right direction / wrong track
One of the most common questions that pollsters ask is whether the respondent sees the community “moving in the right direction, or headed off on the wrong track.” Local firm DHM Research Surveys has data on public sentiment for this question going back to 1993. 32% of respondents in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties said that Portland is heading the right direction in October 2024, an increase from 9% in 2022 and 22% in April 2024. (Poll commissioned by Oregonian.)
